Century Bankcard Services (CBS) was formed in 1999 by the management team of American Heritage Bankcard. Our management team has over 60 years of collective experience in the merchant acquiring business and has earned a reputation within the industry for a high level of integrity, responsive customer service and innovative marketing support. With our focus of forming strategic alliances with financial institutions and industry partners, CBS has experienced a sustained, rapid growth in merchant locations and processing volume as a result of our high touch techniques in servicing clients. CBS currently processes for over 6,500 merchant locations generating over $1.1 billion in annual credit card sales. As a registered ISO with MasterCard and Visa International, CBS is partnered with Global Payments Services (a NYSE listed company-symbol GPN) to provide back end transaction processing services. GPS is one of the largest payment processing providers in the world, delivering comprehensive, end-to-end processing and information management solutions. With more than 1 million merchant locations in the U.S. and Canada, GPS processes over 2.7 billion transactions a year. CBS recognizes that the credit card processing industry continues to evolve. Card acceptance is rapidly expanding into new markets requiring new point of sale payment alternatives and solutions. Emerging technology is replacing old systems, hardware, and operating procedures with the goal of reducing transaction-processing time, expense and risk. CBS has specifically designed our programs to meet these wide range of processing needs in today's competitive market.
